Ballast

Our Ballast is an all-in concreting aggregate produced from a blended mix of sharp sand and graded gravel for concrete production and general construction applications. The combined aggregate grading provides the correct balance of fines and stone for mixing with cement to create strong workable concrete across domestic and commercial building projects. Builders and groundworkers regularly use ballast for footings, shed bases, fence posts, pathways, kerbing, paving foundations, and general-purpose concrete work where a ready-mixed aggregate blend improves consistency and reduces on-site mixing time. We supply this material loose for construction and groundwork projects across Manchester and surrounding North West areas.

The mixed aggregate grading helps produce stable concrete with reliable strength, workability, and compaction characteristics across a wide range of building applications. The sharp sand content improves binding and finishing performance while the gravel aggregate adds structural strength throughout the concrete mix. Contractors commonly use ballast where separate sand and aggregate deliveries are unnecessary or where quicker batching and simpler material handling are preferred on site. Ballast also works well for smaller concrete pours, patch repairs, edging work, and foundation preparation where consistent aggregate blending helps reduce waste and improve installation efficiency.
